“Working with Allison Hall to arrange a meaningful author visit for my 1st grade classroom was an absolute pleasure. She was willing to be flexible around a restrictive school schedule and came prepared to use all of the time we allotted in effective ways.
Allison doesn’t just know how to write, she knows how to talk to children. During her book share and discussions, she made my students feel seen and appreciated for the ideas and questions they contributed. Her openness to sharing her experiences of authorship and writing with my class reinforced teaching points I have shared all year about what it means to be a writer.
My students thoroughly enjoyed identifying the rhymes (and vibrant illustrations) in her books! I would highly recommend opening your classroom doors to Allison Hall; her books, passion for children and stories, and relationship-building skills will create a worthwhile and memorable experience!”

School visit testimonials…
“Some children’s book authors really get it. Allison Hall is one of them. Watching my granddaughters read If I Were Queen for the Day for the first time brought the Reading Specialist in me out of retirement. It gave me the opportunity to observe and listen intently as they read the text with inflection and cadence due to the word choice, sentence structure, and the lyrical, writing style.
I couldn’t help but smile as I recognized the social-emotional learning that was unfolding before my eyes. The whimsical illustrations brought giggles and smiles that had them pausing to gather details and make connections to themselves and the text.
As a grandmother, just watching them take their time to totally enjoy a book from cover to cover was heartwarming. But as an educator, it was easy to recognize that Allison hadn’t just written a charming, joyful story – she has created a beautifully inviting learning experience.
